About 25,000 foreigners get Belarusian tourist visas every year

BREST, 10 November (BelTA) – About 25,000 foreigners get Belarusian tourist visas every year, BelTA learned from Alexander Ganevich, Deputy Head of the Central Consular Office, Head of the Office for Analysis, Planning, Visa and Tariff Policies of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a seminar held in Brest on 10 November.

According to the source, along with facilitating the acquisition of Belarusian visas the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs works hard to simplify entrance procedures for foreign citizens in 2015-2016. A draft presidential decree is in development to allow citizens of 80 countries to stay in Belarus for five days without visas, provided they enter the country via the Minsk National Airport.

The official specified that the 80 countries on the list are safe with regard to migration problems.

At present citizens from a number of countries can enter Belarus without visas. The countries are Azerbaijan, Armenia, Venezuela, Georgia, Israel, Kazakhstan, Cuba, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Macedonia, Mongolia, Russia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Ukraine, and Montenegro. Apart from that, some visa-free travel options are available to foreigners in the national park Belovezhskaya Pushcha and the Augustow Canal Park.

The 47th session of the permanent seminar established under the aegis of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia to discuss the construction of the Union State is scheduled to take place in Brest on 10-11 November to discuss Belarus-Russia interaction in tourism affairs.
