MINSK, 2 November (BelTA) – The negotiating process on Belarus’ accession to the WTO was discussed at the meeting of Belarus’ Permanent Representative in Geneva Yuri Ambrazevich and WTO Director General Roberto Azevedo on 30 October, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to the press service, “the parties were unanimous in the need for further expansion of Belarus’ WTO entry process, including through technical support from the WTO Secretariat.”
The meeting also touched upon the prospects of Belarus' participation in the WTO events, as well as the trends in the international trade policy.
Besides, Yury Ambrazevich met with United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Raad Al Hussein. According to the ministry, the sides discussed further development of Belarus’ cooperation with the OHCHR following the meeting between the President of the Republic of Belarus and the High Commissioner which took place in New York in September 2015.
