Working group in Belarus to deal with problems of foreign travelers in Belarus-Russia Union

MINSK, 2 October (BelTA) – A working group has been set up in Belarus to deal with problems of foreign citizens and stateless persons, who enter the territory of the Union State of Belarus and Russia. The group has been established by the Belarus prime minister’s executive order No.343r of 29 September 2019, the press service of the Belarusian government told BelTA.

The working group has been entrusted with working out technical requirements and ways of sharing information about visas (issued visas, annulled visas, invalidated visas, and withdrawn visas), residence permits, temporary residence permits and other permits to enter, leave, and stay in the Union State of Belarus and Russia in line with the draft agreement on the mutual recognition of visas. The working group will also work out a system to protect such information. It is necessary to establish cooperation with the Russian side to resolve these and other issues relating to the arrival of foreign citizens and stateless persons in the Union State of Belarus and Russia. It is also necessary to decide how the shared data will go through all the Belarusian government agencies concerned.

The working group will have to report results of its work by 1 November 2017.

The working group is led by First Deputy Communications and Informatization Minister Dmitry Shedko. The Belarusian Communications and Informatization Ministry has been entrusted with providing organizational support for the group’s operation.
