MINSK, 25 November (BelTA) - Snap combat readiness drills are the most effective form of inspection, one that has proven its viability, State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus Aleksandr Volfovich told the media following his report to the head of state on 25 November, BelTA has learned.

“We had a substantive discussion. In general, the president of our country is constantly concerned with issues related to ensuring national security and neutralizing modern risks, challenges, and threats. Of course, this requires the readiness of our state’s military organization to counter these modern risks, challenges, and threats,” Aleksandr Volfovich said.

The state secretary of the Security Council noted that this is especially relevant given the complex and evolving military political situation and the non-constructive steps taken by Belarus' western neighbors. “This is something that is always on the president's mind, almost 24/7,” he added.

According to Aleksandr Volfovich, the president was interested in issues related to the readiness of the structures within the state’s military organization to perform their assigned tasks and to respond to risks and challenges.

“On the instructions of the head of state, snap drills to test the readiness and capability of all structures of the state’s military organization to perform their designated tasks are conducted throughout the year. This is, perhaps, the most effective form, which has proven its viability,” the state secretary of the Security Council emphasized.
