MINSK, 18 November (BelTA) - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong will travel to Belarus on an official visit on 26-27 November. The preparations for the visit were discussed in a meeting between the head of the Asia, Australia and Oceania department at the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Andrei Grinkevich and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Belarus Do Van Mai on 18 November, BelTA learned from the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus.
On 17 November Minsk hosted a meeting of the Belarusian-Vietnamese intergovernmental commission on trade, economic and sci-tech cooperation under the chairmanship of Belarus’ Deputy Foreign Minister Valentin Rybakov.
During the meeting the parties review the status of implementation of the final protocol of the previous (tenth) session of the commission, the program of economic cooperation between Belarus and Vietnam in 2013-2015.
The parties also discussed the ways of increasing the bilateral trade and economic relations, developing the relations in the fields of industry, agriculture, education, science and technology and the financial and banking sectors, and also the preparations for the eleventh session of the commission to be held in Ho Chi Minh City on 3-4 December during the conduct of Belarus’ national expo (3-6 December) as part of Vietnam Expo 2014. The parties will also hold another round of political consultations then.
