Valery Sadokho presented with Vietnamese Friendship Order

MINSK, 25 January (BelTA) – Former Ambassador of Belarus to Vietnam, Director of the National Center for Marketing and Price Study under the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Valery Sadokho has been awarded with the Vietnamese Friendship Order, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian diplomat received the award from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Minsk Le Anh at a meeting held in the House of Friendship on 24 January to mark the 25th anniversary of the Belarusian-Vietnamese diplomatic relations. He noted that the President of Vietnam bestowed the high state award upon Valery Sadokho for his huge contribution to cooperation between the two countries.

Valery Sadokho stressed the importance of ties between Belarus and Vietnam, which have been steadily developing in the recent times. Belarus’ Industry Minister Vitaly Vovk also spoke at the meeting. He emphasized that the exchange of high-level visits add a significant impetus to the Belarusian-Vietnamese cooperation. He also noted that the trade between the two countries has soared three times over the past 10 years, although the present figures still do not meet the existing potential.

Performing at the event was the folk band Kupalinka of the Belarusian State Philharmonics.
