MINSK, 28 January (BelTA) – Aleksandr Lukashenko has received a congratulatory message from Valentina Matviyenko, Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, on the occasion of his victory in the Belarusian presidential election, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“A landslide victory in the election means a broad recognition of your achievements as head of state and nationwide support for the course you are pursuing to strengthen the country's economic potential, improve living standards, and defend Belarus' national interests in the international arena. Your many years of selfless work in the interests of the Fatherland, your indisputable authority and political wisdom are a shining example for the younger generation. Your readiness to take responsibility for the future of the country is the key to its successful development, stability and prosperity,” the congratulatory message reads.

Valentina Matviyenko noted that the Federation Council appreciates Aleksandr Lukashenko's efforts to promote the inter-parliamentary dialogue, multifaceted cooperation and interstate integration.

The chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly wished the Belarusian president good health, energy, support from his family and friends, and the achievement of the highest goals for the benefit of the people of the Republic of Belarus.
