MOSCOW, 2 May (BelTA) - Prospects for the development of trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and the Republic of Karelia, the Russian Federation will be considered at a meeting of the foreign policy commission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus-Russia Union State. The meeting is due in Petrozavodsk on 11 May, BelTA learned from the press service of the Parliamentary Assembly.
The MPs will also discuss the status of preparations for the fourth Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia and the interaction with the inter-parliamentary organizations.
The meeting will be also attended by representatives of the Agriculture and Food Ministry and the Forestry Ministry of Belarus, and officials of the government and the chamber of commerce of the Republic of Karelia.
During a visit to Petrozavodsk the Union State MPs will meet with Deputy Head of Karelia - Prime Minister of the regional government Alexander Chepik and Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Republic of Karelia Elissan Shandalovich.
