MINSK, 27 January (BelTA) – The Special Envoy on Disability and Accessibility of the UN Secretary General may visit Belarus. The matter was discussed at a meeting between Belarus’ Permanent Representative in Geneva Yuri Ambrazevich and Special Envoy on Disability and Accessibility of the UN Secretary General Lenin Moreno Garces, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The special envoy welcomed the Belarus President’s signing of the UN Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities in September 2015 and expressed hope that Belarus would ratify it soon.

The parties agreed that the visit would be useful in terms of exchanging the experience in the implementation of the convention.
