MINSK, 6 November (BelTA) – Steps meant to further facilitate the rules of stay for Belarusian and Turkish citizens in Belarus and Turkey were discussed during consultations on consular affairs between representatives of the Belarusian and Turkish ministries of foreign affairs in Minsk on 6 November, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.
Participants of the consultations on consular affairs appreciated the rising tourist traffic after visa requirements for travels between Belarus and Turkey were lifted and mentioned an increase in business activities. The sides confirmed the effectiveness of the visa-free regime and discussed steps meant to further simplify rules of stay for citizens of the two countries in Belarus and Turkey, said the press service.
The sides exchanged information about activities of the Belarusian and Turkish consular services. They also discussed steps to further step up interaction for the sake of timely responding to potential crisis situations. The representatives of the Belarusian and Turkish ministries of foreign affairs discussed prospects of developing the legal base on consular affairs. Practical implementation of the mechanism for mutual legal aid in civil, family, and criminal cases was discussed as well.
Apart from representatives of the Belarusian and Turkish consular services representatives of the police and justice agencies of Belarus and Turkey also took part in the consultations.
