MINSK, 3 January (BelTA) – Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov held a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov, BelTA reports citing the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the call, the foreign ministers discussed the situation in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
They agreed that the current developments are especially alarming in the context of regional and global security and this situation represents an unacceptable violation of fundamental principles of international law, primarily, respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states.
The foreign ministers agreed to closely coordinate their efforts in key international forums, including the United Nations. The objective of this coordination is to promptly return the situation to a legal framework and ensure a comprehensive international legal assessment of the events in Venezuela.
