Prospects of Belarus-Romania political, economic cooperation discussed in Bucharest

MINSK, 8 September (BelTA) – The prospects of political and economic cooperation between Belarus and Romania have been discussed at the ministerial consultations of the two countries in Bucharest, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Belarusian delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alena Kupchyna, while the Romanian delegation was headed by State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Daniel Ionita.

The parties discussed mutual relations between Belarus and the European Union, including the implementation of the Eastern Partnership initiative. The parties also considered issues of regional and international agenda.

The head of the Belarusian delegation, who also co-chairs the Belarusian part of the intergovernmental Belarusian-Romanian commission on economic cooperation, met with State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Tourism, Chairman of the Romanian part of the commission Florin Vodita. The parties talked over the prospects of expanding trade and economic cooperation and the resumption of the activity of the commission.

Alena Kupchyna also met with the State Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research of Romania and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture to discuss cooperation in education, science and culture.
