MINSK, 6 August (BelTA) - Preparations are underway to organize a visit for Algerian president’s visit to Belarus in the near future, Ahmed Attaf, Algeria's Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Communities Abroad, and African Affairs, said as he met with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko in Minsk on 6 August, BelTA has learned.
Greeting the Belarusian head of state, the foreign guest thanked him for the opportunity to meet and spoke about a special mission entrusted to him by the president of Algeria.
“Your friend, my President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, has authorized me to convey three messages to you. First, confirmation of deep friendship and high appreciation for your work, Mr. President. Second, his readiness and commitment to work shoulder to shoulder with you to elevate the level of bilateral relations. Third, high praise for the intensive dynamic in bilateral relations observed since the meeting of the two leaders in December 2025 in Algiers,” said Ahmed Attaf.
According to him, work is underway to organize Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s visit to Belarus. “The president of Algeria will actively work to fulfill the previously reached agreement to visit Belarus in the very near future,” the Algerian minister of foreign affairs emphasized.
