Poltavchenko: Cooperation with Belarus is a priority for Saint Petersburg

MOSCOW, 17 June (BelTA) – Belarusian First Deputy Prime Minister Vasily Matyushevsky and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko met with Saint Petersburg Governor Georgy Poltavchenko on the sidelines of the 20th Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum on 17 June, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia.

“The parties reviewed the status of implementation of the program for trade, economic, scientific, technical and humanitarian cooperation between Saint Petersburg and Belarus in 2012-2016 and discussed suggestions regarding the new cooperation program for 2017-2021. Besides, they touched upon the results of the 3rd Belarus-Russia Forum of Regions recently held in Minsk. A Saint Petersburg delegation attended the forum,” the press service said.

Georgy Poltavchenko emphasized that the Russian city places a high priority on its relations with Belarus, which are very warm and friendly. “The government of Saint Petersburg is ready for constructive work,” he said.
