MINSK, 28 March (BelTA) – The parliamentary dimension allows for Belarus and Ecuador to conduct a serious dialogue, Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich said as he met with President of the National Assembly of Ecuador Gabriela Rivadeneira Burbano on 28 March, BelTA has learnt.

According to the Chairman of the Council of the Republic, it is of high importance to complete the work necessary to sign six agreements. He emphasized three of them: on trade and economic cooperation, on the protection of investments, and on the mutual recognition of university diplomas.

Mikhail Myasnikovich also spoke in favor of developing Belarusian-Ecuadorian interregional ties. “Not all the issues can be addressed via the capitals,” he said.

Gabriela Rivadeneira Burbano noted that the Ecuadorian parliament followed the example of the National Assembly of Belarus and set up a group on Ecuadorian-Belarusian parliamentary cooperation

Gabriela Rivadeneira Burbano also serves as Chairperson of the Latin American Parliament (Parlatino). Today the parties are expected to sign agreements on cooperation between the Belarusian and Ecuadorian parliaments, and also between Belarus and the Latin American Parliament.
