MINSK, 30 June (BelTA) – During the meeting with Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko on 30 June OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Vice President Kent Harstedt mentioned positive changes in Belarus, BelTA has learned.
“Great changes for the better are happening in the Belarusian society and we evaluate it positively,” said Kent Harstedt. He noted that he had been in Belarus several times. The first visit took place about 20 years ago. Back then Kent Harstedt was representing UNICEF. Kent Harstedt has also visited Belarus as the head of the Swedish judo federation.
Kent Harstedt also noted that for several years now the OSCE PA has had a fruitful dialogue with head of the Belarusian parliament delegation Viktor Guminsky. “Having a dialogue with the Belarusian side is important in several regards. It is important to see the situation that exists in Belarus now as well as future prospects,” said the OSCE PA Vice President.
