Next meeting of Belarus-Romania intergovernmental commission slated for H2 2017

MINSK, 13 January (BelTA) – The next meeting of the Belarusian-Romanian intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation will be held in Romania in H2 2017, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Andrei Grinkevich, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Romania, met with Cornel Ionescu, Head of the Division for Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on 12 January to discuss the preparations for the meeting of the intergovernmental commission. The parties reviewed the current state and development prospects of the Belarusian-Romanian cooperation, considered matters related to the establishment of friendship groups in the Belarusian and Romanian parliaments to intensify the interparliamentary collaboration, and talked about organization of the joint events to mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations.

Special attention was paid to ways to step up the trade and economic cooperation by tapping deeper into its great potential. In this context, the importance of the meetings and activities of the Belarusian-Romanian commission for economic cooperation was emphasized.
