MINSK, 9 October (BelTA) – Open parliamentary hearings on public-private partnership (PPP) will be held in Minsk on 25 November, Chairman of the permanent commission on economic policy Viktor Valyushitsky said at the meeting of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus on 9 October, BelTA has learned.
The MPs considered the draft resolution of the House of Representatives on holding parliamentary hearings regarding public-private partnership, international experience and prospects for the Republic of Belarus. “A decision has been taken to organize open parliamentary hearings on the issue at the House of Representatives on 25 November,” Viktor Valyushitsky said.
In his words, the parliamentary hearings will get the deputy corps familiar with the institute of public-private partnership and international experience of implementing PPP projects. There are plans to discuss conceptual approaches developed by the Economy Ministry of Belarus to the draft law on public-private partnership, exchange opinions on creating conditions for a successful functioning of such an institute in the country.
According to Viktor Valyushitsky, the draft law envisages the creation of additional conditions for attracting investment in the country’s economy based on PPP, securing the efficient use of the state property, enhancement of the quality of goods (services, works) provided to the population. It, among other things, should promote the social and economic development (both through additional investment in infrastructure facilities and enhancement of the quality of the state sector services).
