Minsk Oblast, France’s Indre-et-Loire department to expand economic ties

MINSK, 16 September (BelTA) – The Minsk Oblast Executive Committee and France’s Indre-et-Loire department have plans to expand cooperation in trade, economy and culture, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in France.

As part of the European Heritage Days, the town hall of the Champigny-sur-Veude commune hosted a presentation of Minsk Oblast economy and trade, investment and tourism potential, and an exposition of the region’s products. The presentation was organized by the Belarusian Embassy together with the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.

The presentation included an exposition of works by students of the Chaim Soutine Center of Arts from Smilovichi. The exposition featured 26 works painted by emerging artists aged 8-15 years. A folk music group Plissa from the Oktyabrsky Rural Community Center performed Belarusian folk songs. A master class of Belarusian crafts was held. Attending the event were members of the French Senate, senior officials of the Indre-et-Loire department, mayors of several nearby communities, public figures, journalists and Belarusians living in France.

Belarusian Ambassador to France Pavel Latushko emphasized the importance of promoting bilateral interregional cooperation and showcasing young Belarusian talents. The diplomat believes that this exposition is a symbolic bridge connecting the famous generation of Belarusian artists of the School of Paris of the early 20th century and contemporary Belarusian artists.
