MFA: Belarus deeply concerned over escalating tensions between India and Pakistan

MFA: Belarus deeply concerned over escalating tensions between India and Pakistan

MINSK, 28 February (BelTA) – It is with great concern that Belarus has been following the escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan, with both of whom Belarus maintains friendly relations, BelTA has learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Belarus has consistently pursued a peaceful foreign policy and has been strongly advocating the resolution of any disputes exclusively by peaceful means. “Our country also resolutely condemns all forms and manifestations of terrorism regardless of the origin and motives of terrorists,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

The South Asian region, where nuclear-weapon states of India and Pakistan are located, is extremely important for maintaining international peace and security. Uncontrolled escalation of tensions in this region is fraught with dangerous and unpredictable consequences.

The ministry calls upon the stakeholders “to show prudence and restraint and use all possible means to remove tensions through negotiations and consultations, without resorting to military force.”
