MOSCOW, 29 March (BelTA) - Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei had a telephone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on 29 March, BelTA learned from the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
"The parties discussed the current issues of bilateral cooperation and the development of the Union State and also the schedule of the upcoming Russian-Belarusian meetings and events within the framework of the CSTO," the report said.
The ministers exchanged views on topical regional issues, including the course of Russia's special military operation in Ukraine and the Russian-Ukrainian talks. "The parties agreed to step up the coordination in the foreign policy sphere, including the joint response to the illegitimate sanctions from a number of Western countries," the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed.
The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in turn, reported that the ministers exchanged views on the situation in Ukraine.
"During the conversation, the foreign ministers also touched upon the preparation of the events planned by the foreign ministries of the two countries," the ministry said.
