Makei: Belarus is ready to participate in Russia-Ukraine negotiations if necessary

MINSK, 12 March (BelTA) - Belarus is ready to participate in the negotiation process between Russia and Ukraine if it is asked and if necessary, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said in an interview with China Central Television, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"What is our role? We are not a party to the negotiations, although we do not evade responsibility and are ready to participate in the negotiation process and contribute to the settlement if we are asked to do so and if necessary," the minister said.

According to him, Belarus is focused on providing maximum assistance to both delegations: "We are creating convenient logistics. We provide everything necessary, in terms of organization of the process."

"The most important thing is that the Belarusian president has explicitly guaranteed security for all participants during these negotiations. So we are ready to continue to make our contribution in order for these negotiations to result in success as soon as possible," Vladimir Makei emphasized.
