MINSK, 12 November (BelTA) – Belarus hopes that the EU logic of applying sanctions against the country will become a thing of the past, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said as he met with his Lithuanian counterpart Linas Linkevicius on 12 November, BelTA has learned.
“We hope that the European Union will leave behind its logic of sanctions against Belarus. We appreciate the constructive and positive position of our Lithuanian partners on this issue,” Vladimir Makei stressed.
For his part, Linas Linkevicius emphasized that the constructive relations between Belarus and Lithuania should be used not only to step up bilateral cooperation but also to improve the international environment in general.
He added that the Lithuanian side hopes Belarus will achieve progress in promoting the preparation of visa facilitation agreements. “We want Belarusian citizens to be able to easily travel to Europe, establish contacts, and cooperate. This is our common goal,” Linas Linkevicius pointed out.
