MINSK, 26 August (BelTA) – Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei had a telephone conversation with Wendy Morton, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State in the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (Minister for European Neighborhood and the Americas), BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The conversation took place on the initiative of the British side, the ministry noted. The parties discussed the post-election situation in Belarus and exchanged views on the prospects for further bilateral cooperation.

“Vladimir Makei drew attention to the need to continue a constructive and open dialogue, and to the inadmissibility of interference with sanctions in the affairs of Belarus,” the press service informed.
