Lukashenko to pay official visit to Moldova on 18-19 April

MINSK, 16 April (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko is expected to pay an official visit to Moldova on 18-19 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The agenda of the forthcoming visit will include meetings with the president and the prime minister of Moldova to discuss various aspects of interstate relations.

Alexander Lukashenko's one-on-one talks with President Igor Dodon will be followed a meeting with the participation of the delegations. The talks will focus on the development of the Belarusian-Moldovan cooperation, and interaction in integration formats, including within the Eurasian Economic Union and the CIS.

Alexander Lukashenko and Igor Dodon will visit the Porumbeni Institute of Horticulture to take part in the Field Day ceremony to mark the start of the sowing campaign.

The Belarusian head of state will also meet with Moldova Prime Minister Pavel Filip to talk over the expansion of economic relations in various sectors, including agriculture, food industry, industrial cooperation, and infrastructure projects. Special attention will be paid to the operation of joint ventures and the setting up of new ones, the development of cooperation in energy, humanitarian and law enforcement fields. The parties are expected to sign a number of international documents.

Chisinau will be also hosting the Belarusian-Moldovan forum of business and interregional cooperation. Taking part in the event will be not only businessmen but also the local authorities of the two states. The forum will feature a display of Belarusian utility machinery and other products.
