Lukashenko to inspect harvesting progress in Miory District

MIORY DISTRICT, 3 August (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko will be briefed on the social and economic development of Miory District (Vitebsk Oblast) and the progress in the harvest campaign on 3 August, BelTA informs.

The head of state will visit the winter wheat field of OAO Turkovo where he will be informed about the progress in the harvesting of grain in the enterprise, the region and the country in general, the fulfillment of the state procurement contracts, conservation of fodder for the animal husbandry industry and use of progressive technologies for this purpose.

The president also plans to visit the Miory central district hospital. Alexander Lukashenko will be informed about the fulfillment of his instructions to finish the construction and commissioning of a new hospital building, provision of medical aid to the population of the region.

Initially the hospital occupied 11 separate buildings. In 1991 a project was prepared to build a healthcare facility with 250 beds. The construction began in 1992. However, the works were stopped in 2001 due to the lack of financing.

The new building was inspected, the project was revised, and the construction works were resumed in ten years. The object was included in the state investment program with the volume of financing of almost Br6.4 million. This amount was equally divided between the republican and oblast budgets.

A new building of the Miory central district hospital with 80 beds was commissioned in May 2018.
