“It is inadmissible when the commander-in-chief is absent when the troops are in the capital city. In line with the Belarusian Constitution, only the commander-in-chief can review the troops. If the president is absent there will be no parade,” the head of state noted. The President will be in Minsk on 9 May. “Minsk will host the parade similar to the Moscow one on 9 May,” he said.

Perhaps, we will lay wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier as we usually do. On 8 May Moscow will host events within the framework of the EEU, CIS, CSTO; therefore I cannot but take part in them. I will try to return home on 8 May. These are my plans,” the President stressed.
