MINSK, 21 December (BelTA) – The average salary in Belarus must be raised to $500 in 2017. Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko reminded about his instruction on 21 December as he appointed several people to executive positions in the Belarus President Administration, BelTA has learned.
“Let me emphasize once again: I want the average salary next year to be as large as $500. It must be done regardless of the difficulties. It must be done whatever it takes,” demanded the Belarusian leader. “We will not be able to avoid it. So let’s work for the benefit of the people. Let’s support them.”
The head of state also drew attention to the need to get rid of excessive inspections of private companies and to streamline regulatory standards in various areas. “We need normal regulatory standards in veterinary science, sanitary science, fire prevention and so on. There can be several regulatory standards. If the company matches the requirements, it should be free to work,” said Alexander Lukashenko. “Then I don’t want any excessive oversight over companies, particularly newly opened enterprises.” At the same time there are plans to step up the responsibility of executives for the safe operation of their enterprises. The relevant matters must be closely overseen.
“Don’t loom over people too much. We are going to approve the regulatory standards at the presidential level. We will declare the standards before the nation. It will be the rule we should live by,” concluded Alexander Lukashenko.
