MINSK, 30 December (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has had a telephone conversation with Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The Kazakhstan president extended New Year’s greetings with the Belarusian head of state. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev thanked Aleksandr Lukashenko for the October official visit, emphasizing its importance for Kazakhstan and bilateral relations. He expressed gratitude for the condolences offered over the recent plane crash and stressed that Kazakhstan knows that the brotherly Belarusian people is always ready to help when it is needed. 

“Aleksandr Lukashenko invited Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to make an official visit to Belarus, and noted that the country is looking forward to his visit. In response, the Kazakhstan president said that he views his future visit as an impetus to the agreements reached in October,” the press service said.

In general, the heads of state welcomed the high effectiveness of bilateral contacts and the dynamics of the development of multifaceted cooperation between Belarus and Kazakhstan, and also expressed the hope for the continuation of fruitful cooperation in the coming 2020.
