Lukashenko signs Book of Honorary Guests of Russia's Federation Council

MOSCOW, 14 March (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has made an entry in the Book of Honorary Guests of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, BelTA has learned.

The head of state was greeted by Chairperson of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko. The head of state presented her with a bouquet of flowers.

“Dear Valentina Ivanovna! Dear senators of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation! I am glad to meet with you here at the Federation Council. I highly appreciate your significant contribution to strengthening friendship and strategic partnership between the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation, your tireless efforts to promote cooperation between the regions of the two countries,” the entry in the Book of Honorary Guests reads.

Aleksandr Lukashenko hopes that the well-coordinated joint work of parliamentarians will result in new initiatives and projects, help fully untap the potential of interregional and interstate cooperation, and improve the living standards of people. “All this makes our Union stronger,” the president is confident.
