Lukashenko sends Unity Day greetings to Vladimir Putin

MINSK, 2 April (BelTA) - Chairman of the Supreme State Council of the Union State, President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has sent greetings to President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin as the two countries celebrate the Day of Unity of Peoples of Belarus and Russia, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Our countries are committed to the development and strengthening of the Union State which gives new opportunities for ensuring stable development of national economies and raising the wellbeing of people,” the message of greetings reads.

Alexander Lukashenko noted that he appreciates a big personal contribution of Vladimir Putin to Belarus-Russia integration processes. “I am convinced that our trust-based and constructive dialogue on the entire range of issues on the Union State agenda will be a driver of progress,” the Belarusian head of state said.

The Belarusian President also sent Belarus-Russia Unity Day greetings to Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Union State, Chairman of Government of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Russian Federal Assembly Valentina Matviyenko, Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federal Assembly Sergei Naryshkin, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, head of the Communist Party faction in the State Duma of the Russian Federal Assembly Gennady Zyuganov.
