MINSK, 29 November (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has sent greetings to the participants of the 3rd congress of the Belarusian Union of Writers, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
“The best works of literature, honest and sincere words of writers have always shaped ethical and esthetic ideals, helped develop the society and strengthen moral principles,” the message of greetings reads. “It is important that our contemporaries respect books and view them as the source of wisdom and knowledge.”
According to the head of state, thanks to the creative talent and an active social position writers can make a big contribution to the enlightenment, patriotic education, and expansion of international cultural ties.
