Lukashenko sends Evacuation Day greetings to Syria

MINSK, 17 April (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent greetings to Syria President Bashar al-Assad as the country celebrates Evacuation Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“I am convinced that under your professional leadership Syria will soon overcome all difficulties caused by the armed conflict, restore the national economy, and the friendly Syrian nation will soon return to normal peaceful life,” the message of greetings reads.

The president reaffirmed Belarus’ eagerness to continue supporting Syria on the international arena in the fight against terrorism and extremism and developing bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Bashar al-Assad health and every success in the efforts to ensure peace and civil accord in Syria.
