MINSK, 9 August (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has sent a letter of birthday greetings to President of the Ukraine Charity Foundation Leonid Kuchma, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“In the Republic of Belarus you are known as a prominent political figure and a talented leader whose efforts have always been focused on Ukraine’s prosperity. Your life and huge experience of civil service deserves sincere appreciation,” the head of state remarked.

Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that over the years as president Leonid Luchma has made a big personal contribution to the formation of modern relations between Belarus and Ukraine. “I recall our meetings with exceptional warmth, value their trustful atmosphere and a high level of mutual understanding,” the message of greetings reads.

In view of the paramount importance of ensuring security and peace in the region, the Belarusian head of state thanked Leonid Kuchma for his efforts to settle the situation in Donbass.
