Lukashenko sends birthday greetings to Latvian president

MINSK, 30 June (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated his Latvian counterpart Egils Levits on his 65th birthday, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, the fact that Egils Levits holds such a high political post testifies to a high level of trust on the part of fellow Latvians and exceptional professional experience that can help overcome all the difficulties of today, the message reads.

The Belarusian head of state hopes that the two countries will keep working to strengthen their good neighborly relations. “Highest-level contacts will contribute to it. I hope that we will be able to meet in hospitable Riga soon to discuss ways to deepen cooperation between Belarus and Latvia,” the president said.
