MINSK, 15 May (BelTA) – The meeting of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan is underway in Dushanbe, BelTA has learned.

The two heads of state began their talks with a ceremony of an official meeting in front of the central entrance to the Palace of Nations. The leaders are expected to hold one-on-one talks and a meeting with the participation of the delegations. The presidents are set to sign a number of bilateral documents on the development of cooperation in various sectors.

The focus of the talks will be on the ways to intensify trade and economic cooperation. The heads of state will also talk over political cooperation and the most important issues of the regional and global agendas.

Kohi Millat (Palace of Nations) is the official residence of the President of Tajikistan. The palace is used to host heads of foreign states, governments and international delegations. The palace was built to honor founder of the Tajik statehood Ismail Samani. The palace is partially furnished with Belarusian furniture.
