MINSK, 12 March (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone call on 11 March, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service.
The heads of state discussed the situation in the Russian economy and on the country’s currency market. According to Vladimir Putin, there are no catastrophic phenomena in the country and Russia has enough resources for maintaining economic stability.
Alexander Lukashenko informed his counterpart on the forthcoming elections to the local councils of deputies which are due in Belarus on 23 March.
The Presidents also talked over the situation in Ukraine and expressed unanimity of the need for the situation to develop in the interests of the Ukrainian people and all the people living in Ukraine.
