GRODNO, 24 August (BelTA) – It is important to restore peace in Belarus, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said attending a rally in Grodno on 22 August, BelTA has learned.
“Dear friends, people are tired. We are used to living in a calm, peaceful and tolerant country - in Minsk, here and in other cities. People have seen attempts to start a fire here. People are tired, they are asking for a peaceful life. We should give them this life,” the president said.
The head of state instructed the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the KGB Office in Grodno Oblast to restore order in the streets of Grodno and other towns of the region within Saturday and Sunday. “No matter whether some like it or not, we need to identify carefully (not in droves) all agitators and provocateurs. We have them all on our lists. We need to spot them,” the Belarusian leader said.
