Lukashenko offers deep condolences to families of 2 pilots killed in plane crash near Baranovichi

MINSK, 19 May (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has expressed deep condolences to the families of two pilots killed in the plane crash near Baranovichi and is keeping an eye on the investigation, Press Secretary of the Belarus President Natalya Eismont told reports when asked if the president was informed about the accident.

“Yes, of course, the president is aware, he was promptly informed about the accident. He gave all the necessary instructions regarding the investigation of the catastrophe, is keeping an eye on it and is waiting for the results,” the press secretary said.

“The head of state has expressed deep condolences to the families of the victims. The defense minister was instructed to convey support from the president and to provide any assistance to them,” Natalya Eismont said.

Lukashenko condoles with friends, families of dead pilots

MINSK, 19 May (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has expressed condolence to friends and families of the pilots, who died in a military aircraft crash in Baranovichi, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA.

The message reads: “All of us mourn today. We’ve lost heroes, who placed lives of their compatriots ahead of theirs. By demonstrating unequalled courage, Major Andrei Nichiporchik and Lieutenant Nikita Kukonenko steered the falling aircraft away from residential houses, thus preventing multiple casualties.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko noted: “There are no words capable of tempering the sorrow of the loss for the friends and families. But there is memory, which will forever stay in our hearts along with the pain and immeasurable gratitude for this heroic deed.”
