Lukashenko, Mirziyoyev to meet in Minsk on 1 August

MINSK, 31 July (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko will hold talks with Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on 1 August. The leader of Uzbekistan is set to arrive in Minsk on an official visit on 31 August, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The two heads of state will meet at the Palace of Independence first one-on-one and then with the participation of the delegations. Aleksandr Lukashenko and Shavkat Mirziyoyev will discuss a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, with the focus on economic ties. The parties will talk over prospects for joint projects in mechanical engineering, light industry, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, transport and IT. Close attention will be paid to interregional and production cooperation and creation of favorable conditions for mutual trade in goods and services. The leaders of Belarus and Uzbekistan will also discuss the political agenda and the situation in the region and globally.

The talks will be followed by a ceremony to sign a package of international documents on cooperation between the two countries in various sectors.

The presidents are expected to attend the exhibition of Uzbekistan products, which is currently underway in the Belarusian capital.
