MINSK, 28 October (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings to the people of the Czech Republic as the country celebrates Independent Czechoslovak State Day, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“The history of constructive cooperation between our countries has many decades. Its distinctive feature has always been contacts between people of different professions, age, religion and social status,” the message of greetings reads.

The head of state expressed confidence that the artificial barriers created by the current Western politicians under the slogans of democratization and protection of national interests have nothing to do with the everyday problems of the people. “You have been able to see this many times recently,” the president stated.

Belarusians have never posed a threat to anyone, Aleksandr Lukashenko said. “The main goal for us has always been to preserve peace and harmony in the common European home. This can be only achieved without diktat, ultimatums and illegal restrictions, with the recognition of the right of each nation to self-determination and choice of its own path of development,” the Belarusian leader stressed. “I believe that soon we will be able to unite and return back to normal, implement projects in the economic and humanitarian sectors.”

The president wished harmony, happiness and prosperity to all Czechs and invited them to visit Belarus.
