Lukashenko explains what strikes fear in opponents abroad

MINSK, 6 May (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko drew parallels between the heroic chapters of the past battles and the present day, explaining the fears of the opponents abroad as he addressed a solemn assembly to mark the 80th anniversary of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War in Minsk on 6 May, BelTA has learned.

The head of state noted that during the Great Patriotic War Soviet fighters sacrificed their lives, and did it consciously. “They fought without fear. They are examples for us. And they [opponents] abroad are terribly afraid of this nowadays. Extremely afraid,” he said.

In this regard, Aleksandr Lukashenko mentioned Russia's special military operation in Ukraine. “I am closely following the situation with the special military operation. Battle-hardened Russian soldiers are not sparing their lives. Why? They are following that example. This is what those who are rattling their weapons on our borders today are most afraid of,” the president said.
