MINSK, 5 October (BelTA) - Cooperation with African countries is interesting for Belarus, both politically and economically, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he accepted the credentials of the ambassadors of a number of states, BelTA has learnt.
According to the Belarusian head of state, the region remains important as a large and rapidly expanding market.
Alexander Lukashenko noted that since the Soviet time Algeria has been Belarus’ reliable partner on the African continent. "We view the country as an influential participant of international relations and one of the leaders of the Arab world,” the Belarusian leader said. “But the current level of bilateral dialogue satisfies neither Belarusian nor Algerian parties,” Alexander Lukashenko said.
The President suggested taking joint effort to increase the bilateral trade, expand business cooperation, and implement joint projects in various fields.
