Lukashenko congratulates China on 90th anniversary of People’s Liberation Army

MINSK, 1 August (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has sent greetings to China President Xi Jinping as the country celebrates the 90th anniversary of the foundation of China’s People’s Liberation Army, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The Belarusian head of state stressed that the Armed Forces of China have done their best to protect the independence of their state and the freedom of the Chinese people in persistent battles. “I am proud of the fact that the defenders of our countries provided mutual assistance in the fight against global fascism and militarism. There were many Belarusians among Soviet soldiers fighting for Wuhan and for the liberation of northeastern China. Many of them became Heroes of the Soviet Union. Together with the Chinese people, they made their contribution to the protection of peace,” the message of greetings reads.

Alexander Lukashenko remarked that the interaction of Belarus and China in the military industry is an example of mutually beneficial cooperation of trustworthy all-round strategic nature.

“I am convinced that the reorganization and modernization of the army conducted under your leadership will help raise its readiness to respond to potential threats to stability and security,” the Belarusian president added.

He also wished Xi Jinping strong health, peace, kindness, and new achievements for the benefit of the country and the nation.
