Lukashenko compares AI to learning Chinese, quoting Xi Jinping
ASTANA, 28 May (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko compared the seemingly daunting topic of artificial intelligence to learning Chinese as he spoke at the 5th Eurasian Economic Forum in Astana on 28 May, BelTA has learned.
“I remember a phrase said at a family dinner at Xi Jinping’s. He said a memorable line I still recall: you shouldn’t be afraid to learn Chinese. It’s exactly the same with some people’s fear of artificial intelligence, especially among the older generation,” the president of Belarus said.
The discussion arose in the context of the forum’s main theme: The EAEU in the Global Digital Race: Betting on Artificial Intelligence. Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that over the past three years, a global tectonic shift has taken place in this area. Artificial intelligence has moved from scientific laboratories and development centers into every smartphone, and, consequently, into everyday life.
