Lukashenko arrives at SCO summit in Bishkek

BISHKEK, 14 June (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has arrived at the summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) that is taking place in the Ala Archa State Residence in Bishkek, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian leader was greeted by Kyrgyzstan President Sooronbay Jeenbekov at the entrance to the Congress Hall.

As Belarus has an observer status in the organization, Aleksandr Lukashenko is expected to take part in the extended-participation meeting of the SCO Heads of State Council. The head of state will outline Belarus’ stance on the topical issues of the international agenda and ways to promote cooperation within this integration project. Bilateral meetings of heads of state will be held on the sidelines of the summit.
