MINSK, 26 December (BelTA) – As from 2 July 2018 Lithuania will start issuing the Schengen visas in Belarus without commercial intermediaries, BelTA learned from the Lithuanian Embassy in Minsk.
“In order to ensure a more effective and transparent application process for the Schengen visas in the consular offices, the Lithuanian visa services in Belarus will forsake the services of commercial intermediaries. Taking into account the successful practices of other Schengen states, this step aims to reduce the administrative burden on the visa services of Lithuania in Belarus” the diplomatic mission informed.
“The new application process will take effect as from 2 July 2018. It is expected that the Lithuanian and foreign tour operators will have enough time to adjust to these changes, and find alternative ways to encourage the development of tourism in Lithuania and interest of citizens of foreign states in Lithuania,” the Lithuanian embassy informed.
