MINSK, 3 November (BelTA) – The Iraqi embassy in Minsk will be closed temporarily. The matter was discussed as Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Dapkiunas met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iraq to Russia Haidar Mansour Hadi on 3 November, BelTA has learned.
The sides discussed a number of matters relating to the closing of the Iraqi embassy in Minsk. According to the ambassador, it is a temporary measure. By the way, Haidar Mansour Hadi worked as the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Iraq to Belarus in 2010-2015.
Andrei Dapkiunas and Haidar Mansour Hadi exchanged opinions about possible future organization of bilateral cooperation in new conditions, including using the Iraqi embassy in Moscow and the recently appointed honorary consul of Belarus in Bagdad. Prospects of appointing an Iraqi ambassador with concurrent accreditation to Belarus were mentioned as well.
