MINSK, 10 March (BelTA) – Chairman of the Association of Belarusian Banks Aleksandr Kuchinsky has been appointed Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Financial & Banking Association of the Euro-Asian Cooperation (FBA EAC), BelTA learned from spokesman of the Association of Belarusian Banks Pavel Simonov.
“In the FBA EAC, which unites the financial business of the member states of the SCO, BRICS, the EAEU and the EU, we aim to develop interbank cooperation with the credit and financial institutions of Europe and Asia with a view to actively involve Belarusian banks in the implementation of interstate projects and advancement of trade and economic interests of Belarus,” Aleksandr Kuchinsky said.
The Financial & Banking Association of Euro-Asian Cooperation (FBA EAC) was set up in 2013. The former name was the EAC financial and banking association. Currently, its members and partners are more than 70 organizations, including financial and banking associations of Russia, the EAEU, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Central and Eastern Europe, India, banks and commercial structures Uzbekistan, China, Kazakhstan, Slovenia, Romania, Russia. The main areas of activity include interbank cooperation, setting up an investment projects bank, project financing, financial and banking support of trade, economic, manufacturing, scientific and investment cooperation.
The Association of Belarusian Banks was established in 1990 to coordinate the activities of financial institutions. Currently it unites 36 banks and organizations. The association is one of the founders and a member of the International Coordinating Council of Banking Associations in the CIS, Central and Eastern Europe. Partnership agreements have been concluded with more than 20 banking and business associations of Russia, Ukraine, the CIS, the EAEU, Central Asia and Europe.
