MINSK, 18 November (BelTA) - The Pripyat Polesie development program must guarantee increased prosperity for every person, Gomel Oblast Governor Ivan Krupko told the media, following a meeting with the Belarusian head of state on 18 November.
“The program adopted for the Polesie region, which includes five districts of Gomel Oblast (and four of Brest Oblast), is primarily people-oriented. It comprehensively consists of two parts. The first is economic projects, aimed at getting the local economy up and running in every district. The second part is infrastructure projects. As the president said, this includes bridges, roads - everything necessary for the convenience, development, and livelihood of the region,” said Ivan Krupko.
He said the meeting involved a discussion of all program-approved areas and a report on its financing, outlining the share to be covered by the enterprises and organizations themselves, the regional budget, and the necessary allocation from the national budget to ensure precise and timely implementation.

“Approximately 60% of the initiatives are already underway. Some will be completed in 2025, and the work will continue systematically year after year to achieve the program's results by 2030,” the governor said.
In his words, the program ultimately envisages a significant increase in production volumes in both agriculture and industry. The most important outcome of it is a rise in prosperity for every person employed in the economy.
